Does anyone remember that catchy bagel bites commercial from 1996?
Last night, I calculated how many times I ate pizza this past week and the answer was four. Four times!!! Hello cholesterol.
I ate my first pizza on Wednesday night as the Early Childhood Ministry kicked off our 607 program. Papa John's pizza fed 15 families that have committed to serving birth through kindergartners for 10 weeks this fall. This is so exciting to see, since there were only 3 people serving at this Wednesday night ministry when I first started. It has been incredible to see God provide, not just people, but the right people who are committed to loving and serving little children for an hour and a half in the middle of their week. I am truly thankful for each one of them.
I ate my second pizza with friends from church that serve as small group leaders to our high school students. FCC has about 100 students that split up into guy/girl small groups on Wednesday nights and it takes a lot of adult leaders to run these groups. We grabbed some Monical's before going to a Friday night football game.
I had my third pizza for lunch on Saturday. Tyler and I spent some quality time together by baking a frozen Digiorno pizza (cheap and delicious) and watching an old Arnold Schwarzenegger movie while we ate. We are so cool.
My fourth pizza was consumed at Sunday night Oasis. Our high school student ministry used to meet on Sunday mornings at 10:45, but we just moved that service to Sunday evenings from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Last night there were 185 high school students that came to worship and hear about the hope that God gives. Next week, we're having Christmas in September, and the students are going to hear about the hope God offers us through his son, Jesus. Holla!
There is all sorts of good ministry happening over a slice of deep dish pepperoni.
