{college.football}
If it wasn't for my enormous to-do list on the weekends, I could seriously spend an entire Saturday watching football. College football. None of this NFL crap. I don't know a lot about the current players or coaches, but I do know the rules of the game and that is enough for me to enjoy it. I enjoy watching games from the comfort of my living room, with some A&W root beer at my disposal. Yes sir, I enjoy college football. I can even get a little too passionate about it when it comes to UT. I love my Longhorns.
It is really fun to be part of a college town. Having gone to a little christian college in southwest Missouri, I missed out on the whole college town football experience. It was weird moving from San Antonio, a town where I went to my high school's football games every year of my life; to going to college where the only sporting event I attended was Tyler's intramural basketball games ("Go Blitzkrieg!"). I love the excitement and the togetherness that college football brings about in Champaign. However, I will say that you Illinois-ers are awful quick to turn on your team the second they start playing bad. Whenever they start to loose, everyone is hollering at the coaches and players...yeah, as if they are wanting to do bad!? Okay, sorry if I have any Illini friends that read this. Maybe it's not you in particular that I'm referring to, but I bet you know what I'm talking about. One time, at a basketball game, the lady sitting next to me kept yelling out some expletives that are not even appropriate for me to repeat to the bloggy world. I kept wishing she would just eat here caramel corn and hush up. Does anyone know that lady?
{fall.decorations}
It took every ounce of restraint that I could muster to not go to Hobby Lobby today. I'm dying to look at all of their fall decorations. And my friend Laura said they are already 50% off. I don't know if I'll be able to make it through this week without going...I need to get some babysitting jobs, stat.
I haven't gotten out the few fall decorations that I have, but I did swap out my wreaths. Yay! I made this wreath last year with a gift card my mom gave me to Hobby Lobby. She knows me so well.
And check out this beautiful seasonal mantel from Sweet Something Design:
I stumbled upon this woman's design blog and guess what, she's from Webb City! Crazy. I wonder if I ever ran into her at Webb City Walmart. I think we would have been great friends that went to thrift store furniture shopping all the time. Find out how to make her lovely burlap bunting by clicking here.
